Linda Wingerter Blanchard

Linda Wingerter Blanchard, died on December 27, 2021 at the age of 74 following a courageous battle with dementia. Linda is survived by her two loving daughters, Donna and Cheryl Blanchard. She is also survived by her sister, Kathleen Aucoin. Linda was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 55 years, Robert “Bob” Blanchard; her parents, Gerard and Dolores Wingerter as well as two of her sisters, JoAnn Kopelman and Marlene Arceneaux. Over the past several years, Linda overcame numerous health challenges with her feisty and determined spirit. Her oldest daughter, Donna, was her devoted, loving and attentive caregiver for many years.

Linda was born on April 4, 1947 in New Orleans, LA. She lived in Algiers for many years until moving to League City, Texas ten years ago before returning to the New Orleans area following her husband’s passing.

Linda will be remembered most for her never-ending devotion to her husband, their two daughters and her family. Linda was most proud of being a dedicated wife and a loving mother. Her husband and their two daughters meant the world to her. She was happiest during times spent with them.

Linda had a huge heart and her compassionate nature drove her to help others, whenever she could. Linda will be fondly missed for countless reasons but her friendly, beautiful smile and her easy, infectious laugh will be missed the most.

The family will hold a private memorial to celebrate Linda’s life. Interment will follow at Westlawn Memorial Park in Gretna, Louisiana.
