Loretta Mae Martran Maurice passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Friday, July 10, 2015. She was 80 years old. Beloved wife of the late Vernon Christopher Maurice Sr. Loving mother of Marie Denise Maurice Batte (the late Douglas), Steven Maurice (Noemie), Vernon Maurice Jr. (Cynthia), Lisa Maurice Grose (Jeffery), and Lori Maurice Waits Atkinson (Gerald). Grandmother of Douglas Batte Jr., Charles Batte, Amber Caronna, Mary Maurice, Stephanie Maurice, Stacey Maurice, Vernon Maurice III, Gabrielle Grose, Sarah Grose, Marc Waits, and Michael Waits. Great-grandmother of eleven. Daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Martran. Sister of Josephine Mayeaux and the late Kelly Ferro, Marie Zummo, Anthony LaRosa, Joseph Ferro, Evelyn Antoinette, Peter, Preston, Sam, and Loretta Cangelosi. Loretta was a native of New Orleans and a longtime resident of Metairie. She retired from the USDA/NFC after over 33 years of dedicated service, and was also a Lay Carmelite. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial from OUR LADY OF PERPETUAL HELP, 1908 Short Street, Kenner, on Tuesday afternoon, July 14, 2015 at 1:00.
