Mrs. Lorraine Schellhaas Steim

Lorraine Schellhaas Steim, a lifelong resident of Greater New Orleans, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 29 at 4:50 AM. Lorraine, age 88, was a loving and devoted wife, mother, daughter, sister and a wonderful friend to many. Beloved wife of the late Charles L. Steim, she is survived by her four daughters, Sandra Schaetz (Gene), Sheila Talamo (A.J.), Sharon Block (Tommy), and Suzette Long (Jimmy). Also survived by her brother, Al Schellhaas, Jr. , 11 grandchildren: Lori Peak and husband Clyne, Michele Walker and husband Doug, Lisa Forinash and husband Derek, Melissa McClain and husband Jeremy, Stacy Schaetz, Karen Block, Catherine Alford and husband Shawn, Jennifer Settle and husband Brian, Shannon Talamo, Michael Long and Brian Long, 10 great grandchildren, and 3 nephews. She was an active member in St. Louis King of France Catholic Church and Eucharistic Minister at East Jefferson Hospital. She shared her great love of life and deep faith with everyone she met. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at St. Louis King of France Church, 1609 Carrollton Ave., Metairie, LA on Tuesday November 2, 2010 from 10:30 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. followed by a Funeral Mass beginning at 12 noon. Interment will follow in Metairie Cemetery. Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home entrusted with arrangements.
