Louis Songy

Born on July 25, 1942 to Clementine Kampen Songy and Louis Bayrise Songy Sr, Lou was a loving dad to his four children; Lori S. Webre, Michael L. Songy, Rick L. Songy, and Julie S. Davis. He is survived by nine grandchildren; Chris, Ashton, Haley, Gabrielle, Brynne, Alyssa, Olivia, Gavin, and R.J. He is also survived by his siblings, Roy Songy(Yvonne), Mary S. Landry(Gene), and Lee Songy(Linda), He is predeceased by his parents and two brothers, Richard Songy and James Songy.

Lou graduated from De La Salle Novitiate school in Lafayette, Louisiana, was an Air Force veteran, and retired from Xerox Corp. He was a devout Catholic and had much love for His Holy Mother, Mary. Over the years, his faith lead him to teach catechism to high schoolers and prepare Confirmands.

His children would like to thank their spouses for support; Shane, Jennifer, Kim and Paul. Special love sent to Roy and Yvonne Songy for the daily open ended support these last few months.

Lou's life will be celebrated on Wednesday, September 4, 2013. Visitation will be from 10am to noon followed by The Holy Mass at Our Lady of Perpetual Help at 1908 Short Street, Kenner, La. 70062. Burial to follow at Carrollton Cemetery in New Orleans.
