Louis H. Strecker Sr.

Louis H. Strecker, Sr. passed away at his home on Friday, March 2, 2012. He was 89. Devoted husband of Marcella Vath Strecker and former husband of the late Cecile Neupert Strecker. Father of Louis Strecker, Jr., Tommy Strecker (Vicki) and Greg Strecker (Kristi). Stepfather of Frank Forestier (Barbara), Susan Guidry (Jerry), Rebecca Mason (David) and the late Lawrence Forestier. Also survived by eleven grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his siblings, Adele Langkopp, Charles Strecker, William Strecker, Jackie Strecker and Patsy Rotolo and one grandchild.

Louie retired as a foreman in the carpenter’s shop at the VA Hospital. He served his country during WWII as a Sgt. in the Army Air Corps Detachment in the European Theatre and was a member of VFW Post 6640. He was also a parishioner of St. Louis King of France.

The family wishes to express their gratitude to Harmony Hospice for their assistance and care that was kindly bestowed.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend a Funeral Mass at Garden of Memories Funeral Home, 4900 Airline Drive in Metairie, LA on Monday, March 5, 2012 at 11:00 AM. Visitation will begin at 9:00 AM. Interment will be in Garden of Memories Cemetery.

Masses are preferred.
