Lourdes Mascaro Burke

Lourdes Mascaro Burke passed away peacefully at her residence on Wednesday, May 22, 2024, beloved wife of the late Clarence J. Burke, mother of Ralph S. Burke (Christie), Terrence J. Burke (Olga), Mary Ann Burke, Jane Ann Burke, Lourdes A. Burke, and the late Patrick M. Burke. Grandmother of Jeremy S. Burke, Caroline B. Cerise (Jonathan), Victoria E. Burke, Laura B. Badeaux (Simon), and Benton P. Burke (Amanda) and great-grandmother of eight. She is preceded in death by her parents, Ralph S. Mascaro, Sr., and Laura Miller Mascaro, and brother, Ralph S. Mascaro, Jr.

Aged 96 years, a lifelong resident of New Orleans. Lourdes was a devout Catholic with a special devotion to the Blessed Mother of Perpetual Help. The family thanks Passages Hospice, especially Starr Atchison and Tracy Perkins.

Visitation will be held at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 631 State St., New Orleans, LA 70118, on Tuesday, May 28, 2024, from 9:00 am - 11:00 am, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am. Interment will immediately follow at Greenwood Cemetery, 5190 Canal Blvd. In lieu of flowers, donations in Lourdes’ name can be made to St. Clare’s Monastery, 720 Henry Clay Ave., New Orleans, LA 70118, or St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church.
