

Lynn Davis Winn departed this life on August 8, 2025, at the age of eighty-eight. The daughter of Lionel and Flores Davis, Lynn was born in New Orleans on November 14, 1936. Lynn was a retired teacher in New Orleans, and a mentor to many.
Lynn was a graduate of Xavier Preparatory High School and Xavier University in New Orleans. During her tenure at Xavier, she was crowned Miss Xavier in 1959. Lynn was a lifelong member of the “Rinki Dinks” social and pleasure club and was lauded for her special holiday gumbo.
Lynn was preceded in death by her parents, Lionel and Flores Davis as well as her husband, Hal P. Winn. Lynn is survived by her children, Julie Winn and Jeffrey (Samantha) Winn and her grandson, Griffin Winn. She is further survived by her cousin, Dianne Roebuck, Fr. Ian Bordenave and her God daughter, Michelle Humphrey.
Lynn will be missed but never forgotten by the many extended family members and friends that she leaves behind.
The family would like to thank the Daughters of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary who constantly visited with and cared for Lynn. Josetta Mosley cared for Lynn daily sharing her life and friendship. Finally, the family would like to thank the staff and especially the nurses of UMC who provided outstanding care to Lynn during her hospital stay.
Friends and family are invited to share a memorial mass on Thursday, August 21, 2025, at St. Anthony of Padua catholic church located at 4640 Canal Street, New Orleans, Louisiana 70119, where visitation will begin at 8:00 a.m. with a mass at 10:00 a.m.
Following mass, a repast will be held at the Knights of Columbus Christopher Room located at 6254 Vicksburg Street, New Orleans, Louisiana 70124. Please join the family for refreshments following mass.
