AVIS DE DÉCÈS

Lynne Maile Robertson Parker

Avis de décès de Lynne Maile Robertson Parker
AUX SOINS DE

Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home

Lynne Maile Robertson Parker, age 75, of Metairie, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 26, 2020. She was born in Honolulu in 1945 and moved to Louisiana in 1950. She was an East Jefferson High School Warrior who went on to Millsaps College, where she was a Chi Omega and graduated with a degree in education. She taught at the elementary level for many years before deciding to work alongside her father in the family postcard business. She eventually became the President/Owner and creatively grew both the product line and the bottom line.

Lynne had a passion for local government, leading her neighborhood civic associations and serving on the Civic League of Jefferson. She helped to orchestrate the building of the Police & Firefighters Memorial and served on the parish’s Planning Advisory Board until the time of her death. She was a staunch advocate for good government who brought competence & integrity to all that she did.

In what little spare time she had, “Adventure Nana” thrived on living life to the fullest. Above all else, she treasured time with family & loved giving the gift of travel. She found great joy in snow-skiing, four-wheeling and zip-lining with her grandsons. She loved downtime with her daughters & her many friends. She was most relaxed with her toes in the sand and a drink in her hand. She taught us how to live in the moment, how to laugh til we cry, how to stand up for what is right and how to love each other well.

“Windy Lindy” has now rejoined her loving parents, Grant & Dottie Robertson. She is watching over her daughters, Lisa Parker & Lori Arves; son-in-law Joe Arves; grandsons Hunter Saxton & Parker Saxton; and brother Kent Robertson.

For family and friends, there will be a Celebration of Life that will be held at Metairie Country Club on Sunday, November 8, 2020 from 1:00 P.M. TO 4:00 P.M.

The facility requires face masks and there will be an outdoor area.

Should friends desire, memorial contributions may be made to the Joshua Norris Scholarship Fund, which provides education assistance to children of Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Officers. Donations may be mailed to Fraternal Order of Police, Jefferson Lodge, PO Box 321, Gretna LA 70054.
