Marguerite Katie Schwegmann Barrios

Marguerite Schwegmann Barrios passed away on Tuesday, March 6, 2012 at the age of 89. Beloved wife of the late Oneil Paul Barrios, Jr. Devoted mother of Lloyd Barrios (Cheryl), Gary Barrios (Carol), Keith Barrios (Odette), Cheryl Barrios Stuard (Steven) and the late Kirt Barrios. Loving grandmother of Michael, Melissa, Melinda, Kirk, Kenneth, John, Steven, Christopher, Katie, Kristie and Craig. Great grandmother of Collin, Andrew, Lauren, Katey, Brenna, Brice, Ethan, Sofia, Wyatt, Gracie, Vincent and Dominic. Mrs. Barrios was preceded in death by her parents, John and Marie Frey Schwegmann. She was a native of New Orleans, LA and a longtime resident of Metairie, LA. A graduate of Academy of Holy Angels in 1941 and an employee of Schwegmann’s Grocery (her family’s business) for 20 years.

Relatives, friends of the family as well as residents of St. Frances Villa and Woldenberg Nursing Home are invited to attend a Memorial Mass on Thursday, March 15, 2012 at 3:00 pm with visitation beginning at 2:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers, donations are being accepted for a memorial bench in Ms. Marguerite’s name at St. Francis Villa, 10411 Jefferson Hwy., River Ridge, LA 70123.
