Marie Joyce Toribio Riles

Joyce was preceded in death by her loving husband, Joseph “Joe” B. Riles Jr.; her son, Joseph “Joey” B. Riles III; her parents, Roy and Rita “Vera” Toribio Sr. and her brothers Normand Toribio Jr. and Edward Toribio.

Joyce is survived by her children Theresa Riles (Mike Thompson), Richard “Ricky” Riles Sr. (Shirley Sanford) and Lori Petrocelli Wilt (Norman Wilt Jr.). Adoring grandmother to Shawn Toups, Joseph B. Riles IV, Christopher Toups, Tabatha Riles, Erika Naquin, Richard Riles Jr., Thomas “TJ” Petrocelli Jr., Floyd Niette III, Nicole Niette, Jessica Riles, Robert Riles, Kristen Petrocelli and Heaven Wilt. Also survived by many great grandchildren October, Kairi, Finn, Noah, Breelynn, Kaleb, Marlow, Isaiah, Kasyn and Lucian.

Joyce was a native of New Orleans, LA although she called many places even countries home as she traveled the world with her loving husband as a military spouse.

Joyce attended Fortier High School Class of 58. All of her children’s formative years Joyce was a homemaker. Later in life she had careers at Kay Color Laboratory and Brown McHardy Clinic. Joyce volunteered her time freely to the schools as a room mother and with the PTA and of course with the church, originally Nativity of Our Lord Catholic Church which later became Divine Mercy Catholic Church volunteering in the rectory printing bulletins, attending/hosting classes and or groups, as a Eucharistic Minister, delivering Meals On Wheels and always running a booth at the church fair. Roses were her passion and she took loving care of her rosebushes. Bowling was also something she loved and she played on many leagues at Don Carters Bowling Alley.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 4747 Veterans Memorial Blvd., Metairie, LA 70006 on Monday evening, October 7, 2024 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM and on Tuesday morning, October 8, 2024 at Divine Mercy Church, 4337 Sal Lentini Pkwy., Kenner, LA 70065 beginning at 10:00 AM with a Funeral Mass to follow at 11:00 AM.
