Maybelle Mabel Bagwell Carmichael

Mabel Bagwell Carmichael, age 85, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 15, 2013 with her daughter and granddaughter at her side. She was born in Silverhill, Al. and was a longtime resident of Metairie, La. before residing at Ormond Nursing and Care Center where she had a caring staff and more friends. She had worked for AT&T, and was a sitter before retiring . Mabel was a past member of Faith Lutheran Church, before joining Unity, and was a longtime member of the Homemakers Club and Ladies card club. She enjoyed reading, helping others, family, friends and her scotch. Mabel’s favorite answer to almost everything lately was “whatever”, and if you said “GO” she was ready. She never complained and loved everyone and she will be greatly missed. Scooby dooby doo!!

She is survived by her daughter Judy and Hershel (Andy) Moore, her son, Harold (Tom) and Sandra Richarme, her grandchildren, Paige Sekinger, Lara and Brian Anderson, and Jason and Julie Richarme, her great grandchildren, Haley Clemons, Logan and Leia Anderson, and Julian and Jane Richarme, any many nieces and nephews, all of whom she loved dearly.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Olin (Mac) Carmichael, her parents, Daniel and Adele Kirby Bagwell, her brothers, Carlos (Tom) Bagwell and Joseph (Joe) Bagwell, her sisters, Esther Adele (Jane) Hanak, Mary Lucille (Cille) Sansing and Arlee (Bee) Woodcock.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend a Memorial Service at the Garden of Memories, 4900 Airline Drive; on Tuesday, October 01, 2013 at 6:00 pm. Visitation will begin at 4:00 pm.
