Murphy “M.J.” Morales passed away on Sunday, December 18, 2016. He was 78. M.J. was a native of Donaldsonville, LA, was a former resident of Metairie, LA for 45 years and was a resident of Laplace, LA for the past 4 years. Beloved husband of 56 years to Virgie P. Morales. Father of Kenneth Morales (wife, Maria), Eric Morales (wife, Christy), Regina Madere (husband, Roy), Melissa McKinzie (husband, John), Denise Zimmerman (husband, Jack) and the late Karen Morales. Grandfather of Danielle Morales O’Sullivan, Chad Morales, Brandi Morales, Eric Morales, Jr., Garrett Morales, Ashley Morales, Kristian Madere, Austin Morales, Hannah Guise, Dylan Zimmerman, Destiny Zimmerman and Jeffery Zimmerman. Great grandfather of Riley and James O’Sullivan, Cameron and Caden Morales, Kamryn Saulstitch and Louis Johnson, III. Son of the late Murphy Alex Morales and Ruby Rodrigue Morales. Preceded in death by two sisters and two brothers. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. M.J. was a Navy veteran of the Vietnam War.
