Neal A. Dufrene, age 72, entered into eternal rest on Monday, March 4, 2024, surrounded by his two sisters as well as his guardian angel niece, Brooke. He was preceded in death by his loving parents, Landry J. Dufrene and Geraldine Dufrene. Brother of Lennie Dufrene, Sr. (Beverly), Sharon Trapani (Rickey), Brian Dufrene (Donna) and Christy Delatte (Alvin).
Neal was lovingly taken care of for many years at Hammond State School for individuals with developmental disabilities and transferred along with some of his prior caregivers and fellow patients to a group home provided by Evergreen Life Services, where he spent the last 7 years continuing to be excellently cared for until his death.
A private service will be held at Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home Chapel, 4747 Veterans Blvd., on Saturday, March 23, 2024, at 11:00 AM. Inurnment will follow in Restlawn Park Cemetery, Avondale, LA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to Evergreen Life Services (evergreenls.org) or The United Cerebral Palsy Association are preferred and greatly appreciated.
