

Norman A. Aronson, age 89, died at his Beau Chene home in Mandeville in the loving care of his wife, Rachel Prisk Aronson, after a brief illness in the early morning hours Friday, August 3, 2012. He was born in New Orleans and lived there all of his life until 1996 when he moved to Mandeville. He attended Fortier High School and was a student at Tulane University for three years until he was called to serve his country with the U. S. Navy Ship Design Corporation. He later became a residential contractor and built many homes, swimming pools, and commercial developments throughout New Orleans and the surrounding areas. He founded The Pool & Patio Center.
In addition to his wife of twenty years, Rachel, he is survived by his children Bruce and Arthur Aronson, his grandchildren Lee Aronson and Beth Aronson Slater (Joe), his great-grandchildren Sarah, Leah, Kovi, and Samuel Slater, and Rachel's grandchildren Thomas Marks, Caroline and Catherine Zaunbrecher, and William(IV) and Sarah Trotter. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Claralee Antin Aronson, his parents, Abraham and Miriam Shapiro Aronson, and his siblings Bernard Aronson, Charles Aronson (Edna), and Lillian Aronson Feldman (Max).
