Oeline "Lynn" Moore Wolkis

Ms. Oeline “Lynn” Moore Wolkis was born in Leesville, LA to the late Jerry and Florence J. Haymon in July 1935. She is preceded in death by 6 siblings: Lee, Tom, Jim, Wendell, Polly and Shirley. Lynn was a devoted Christian, wife, mother, grandmother, sister, friend, aunt, great grandmother and missionary to all she knew and met.

Lynn was a hardworking woman, known mostly for her friendly smile yet firm oversight as a business manager at Old Metairie Dental Care for 25 years. She made the best chicken gumbo and potato salad, and in her spare time enjoyed spending time with family and enjoying different hobbies.

Lynn was a loving Mom to five children, Taryn (Terry) Smith, (predeceased-Gary Moore), Duane (Kathy L.) Moore, Daryl (Annie) Moore, and Jerry (Connie) Moore. Grandmother to Daryl “DJ” Moore, Jr., Travis (Rosalyn) Moore; Chase Moore, Trista M. (Lorenzo) Lopez, Taryn M. (Matt) Peachey, Taylor M. (Nick) Runyon; Beau Moore, Brooke Stewart; Erica S. (Juan) Mata, Alexis Smith and Seth Smith. Great Grandmother to Aiden Moore, Atley Moore; Avalina Moore, Brantley Moore, Addalyn Moore, Levi Moore; Mellie Lopez, Manny Lopez; Tatum Moore, Maddox M. Peachey; Oswell Runyon; Damien Bivens, Knate Merrill and Brandon Merrill. Lynn was also an Aunt to many nieces and nephews from the Haymon and Moore sides of the family.

Ms. Oeline “Lynn” (Moore) Wolkis went home to be with Jesus and her late husband Mr. Herbert Wolkis on October 21st 2022. Life and homegoing celebration will be held on November 10, 2022, at Leitz-Eagan in Metairie, LA. Visitation from 8:30 -10:00. Chapel from 10-10:30. Following the service, we will travel to the Biloxi National Cemetery, 400 Veterans Blvd., Biloxi, MS 39531 for burial service at 1:30 p.m.
