Patricia Ann Patterson Barthel, age 77, went to Heaven on Friday, September 21, 2018. Mrs. Barthel was a native and lifelong resident of the New Orleans area. Beloved wife of the late Clarence A. Barthel, Sr. Mother of David Barthel (Shannon), Jodi Valverde (Leffy, Jr. “Bubba”) and the late Clarence Barthel, Jr. Stepmother of Nicholas Barthel. Grandmother of Leffy “Miguel” Valverde, Landon Valverde, David “D.J.” Barthel, Jr., Brittany Hebert, Christina Hebert, Skyler Barthel and the late Ross Thonn, Jr. Great grandmother of Bella Rose Thonn, Gage Arabie, Monet Arabie, Sophia Hebert and Jayden Hebert. Former mother-in-law of Ross Thonn, Jr. and the late Sharon Barthel. Daughter of the late John Patterson, Sr. and Alice Cantrelle Patterson. Sister of John Patterson, Jr. and the late Mary Agnes Buford. Also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends at Wynhoven Independent Living Center where she resided for many years. Mrs. Barthel was a wonderful, loving and generous person. She will be greatly missed. Private services will be held at a later date.
