It is with deep sorrow and love that we announce the passing of Patricia Bacon Hawkins, 66, of Franklinton, La. Patricia, known to many as a loving wife, mother, nana, lala, daughter, sister, nanny, and aunt, passed away on February 24, 2025.
Born in New Orleans, LA, on November 8, 1958, Patricia’s heart was as big as her love for her family. She was a woman of unwavering loyalty, and if there was a degree in parenting and devotion, she would have earned it in a day. Her home was always open to everyone in the family and filled with laughter, love, and the sweet smell of delicious meals she lovingly prepared. Patricia was known for her kindness, her ability to always lend a hand, and her infectious empathy/love for her family, especially when it came to playing games and tricks on the kids. She never hesitated to put others first and would give you the shirt off her back if you asked.
Patricia had an incredible love for music and dancing, and her spirit truly came alive whenever she heard a good tune. Whether it was a slow song or an upbeat rhythm, she couldn’t help but dance with joy, filling every room with laughter. Her love for music was something she passed down to her children and grandchildren, and she always found a way to share her passion for it with everyone around her.
Her love for her children and grandchildren knew no bounds, and she made sure that love filled every room she was in. Patricia had a special bond with each of her loved ones and cherished every moment spent with them.
Patricia is survived by her devoted husband, Dana Hawkins, her daughter Crystal Fulco (Johnny Fulco), her son Mark Braud II (Cheyanne Braud), and her beloved grandchildren Brayden Fulco, Brees Fulco, and Brinley Braud. She is also survived by her mother Bonnie Coffey, stepmother Susan Bacon, and siblings Kelly Coker, Byron Bacon III, David Bacon, and Ray Guy. She was preceded in death by her father Byron Bacon Jr., brother Darrel Bacon, her nephew, whom she treated as a son, Byron Bacon IV, and her sister in law Cindy Greer. Patricia is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and extended family members who loved her dearly.
Though our hearts are broken, we take comfort in knowing that Patricia is no longer suffering and is at peace. Her legacy of love, loyalty, joy, and music will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, March 14, 2025, at 4:00 PM at Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 4747 Veterans Memorial Blvd., Metairie, Louisiana, followed by a Memorial Service in the Leitz-Eagan Chapel beginning at 7:00 PM.
We will forever hold her memory in our hearts.
