Peter "Pete" Roppolo Jr.

Peter “Pete” Roppolo, Jr., age 71, peacefully entered into his eternal rest on Monday, December 5, 2011 surrounded by family members. Beloved husband of 52 years to Joan “Lil Sid” Cortez Roppolo. Peter was born on June 2, 1940 to Virginia Cali Roppolo and the late Peter C. Roppolo, Sr. Brother of Joseph Roppolo, Sr., Virginia DeLatte and Gerard Roppolo. Devoted father of Joan Roppolo Boudreau, Janice Roppolo and Ralph Boudreau. Loving grandfather of Megan Boudreau Caire, Ryan Boudreau and Matthew Caire.

Peter, a native and lifelong resident of the New Orleans area, worked for Anheuser-Busch for over forty years. He was a faithful member of Our Lady of Divine Providence parish. Known to those who loved him as Pistol; he devoted his life to family, friends, and acquaintances. An ardent Saints, Hornets, LSU and all-around sports fan; he was a member of the De La Salle High School undefeated 1957 state championship basketball team and the 1958 state championship team and was inducted into the hall of fame along with his teammates in 2007. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at Garden of Memories Funeral Home, 4900 Airline Drive in Metairie, LA on Wednesday, December 7, 2011 at 11:00 am. Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. Interment will be in Garden of Memories Cemetery.

The family would like to express their appreciation towards Dr. Gurtler and her staff, as well as Dr. Monsour and his staff for their kindness, love, and dedication. Thanks is also expressed towards Hospice Associates.
