AVIS DE DÉCÈS

Ralph Gregory Johnson

4 juillet 1941 – 8 janvier 2024
Avis de décès de Ralph Gregory Johnson
AUX SOINS DE

Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home

Ralph Gregory Johnson entered into eternal rest on January 8, 2024, at the age of 82. He was born in New Orleans, LA on July 4, 1941. He was one of two siblings. His Mother focused on religion and he was baptized at an early age and also made his Confirmation. Ralph grew up in the St. Bernard Project but loved to visit his family in the country and Belle Chase, LA. While attending St. Raymond Elementary School, he was an Altar boy at church. He attended St. Augustine High School where he played drums in the band.

While working at Ochsner Foundation Hospital for many years, he married Mary Ann Johnson in 1965. Later, he worked at the Fairmont Hotel until he retired. He was in a bowling league and received many trophies. He enjoyed dancing and loved to clown on the dance floor. Ralph was a fun-loving person, once you got to know him, you would always remember him. Years later after his divorce, Ralph married Christine Johnson in 1994. There were no children from either marriage. Even though Ralph and Christine divorced, they remained devoted to each other until his dying day.

He was preceded in death by his late father Robert Johnson, Sr., his late mother, Georgia Louise Hutchinson, his late brother, Robert Johnson, Jr. (Regina P.), his first wife, the late Mary Ann Johnson, his devoted cousin, the late Henrietta Robinson Porter and her daughter-in-law, the late Aralean Porter. He leaves to cherish his memory his devoted cousin, Rose Marie Sceau and her son Michael Anthony Sceau; George Porter, Jr., his daughter Katrina Porter, his devoted friend, Christine Cayette Johnson and the Cayette family; and a host of cousins, relatives and friends.

Today we celebrate his life and the gift he was to us. His love will live in our hearts and in our memories forever.
