Richard Dale Abshire

Richard “Richie” Dale Abshire, age 48, of Springfield, LA passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 28, 2021 at Tulane Hospital in New Orleans, LA following a battle with brain cancer. Richie was born on December 29, 1972, in Baton Rouge, LA and graduated from Walker High School in 1990.

He is survived by his children, Kaysi, Taylor, Ava, and Elin, his grandchildren, Kaylee, Cole, Ireland, and Aleeyah, sister, Stephanie Laquerre (Chris), niece, Tarryn, grandmother, Nina Richard, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents, Roger Dale Abshire and Billie Jo Richard Abshire, grandparents, Odea and Olita Hanks Abshire and Joseph E. and Marjorie Mathis Richard, and many loving aunts, uncles and cousins.

Richie loved his girls with his whole heart and enjoyed spending time with them playing outdoors and taking them fishing.

The family would like to thank Dr. Christopher Trevino for taking a special interest in his treatment.
