Robert Dudley Blue

Robert Dudley Blue, age 74, went to his Heavenly reward on Tuesday, May 18, 2021. Robert was a native of New Orleans, LA and a lifelong resident of Harahan, LA. Beloved son of the late David R. Blue, Sr. and Margaret Wagner Blue. Father of Jill Mace Rose (Casey) and the late Wendy A. Blue. Grandfather of Chloe Rose. Beloved brother of Margaret Blue Smith, Melinda Blue Storey (Joey) and the late Melissia Blue, David R. “Dusty” Blue, Jr. and Gerald W. “Jerry” Blue (Katie). Uncle of Sherry Estay, Kelly Whitaker, Mariah Blue, Carl Smith, Jessica Blue, Christine Sumrall (Josh), David Balderas (Sara), Michael Estay, Forest Blue, Bella Blue, Scott Smith, Christopher Smith, Robert Smith, Luna Sumrall and Violet Smith. Robert was a retired electrician, a member of IBEW Local 130 for 45 years and a parishioner of St. Rita Church in Harahan, LA. In his younger years he was the lead singer and lead guitar player for the band The Other Side and was affectionately called “Rob Hound Dog Blue”. In his cowboy years he was a trail guide for Western Stables along River Road in Jefferson, LA. Relatives and friends are invited to the memorial gathering at Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 4747 Veterans Memorial Blvd., near Clearview Pkwy., in Metairie, LA on Monday, June 7, 2021 beginning at 11:00 AM with a Memorial Mass to follow at 1:00 PM in Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home’s chapel.
