Robert James George Jr.

Bobby is preceded in death by his parents, Robert James George Sr. and Mary Lee George; his sister Jean McCrary; and niece Dana McCrary. Survived by his devoted wife of 48 years, Sharon Schulte George, son Jason (Katie), daughters Jessica Schwalb (Dustin) and Lindsay (Neal). Also survived by his sisters Ann Lupo (Kevin) and Janet Pitzen (Chris), brother-in-law Robert Schulte and sister-in-law Nancy Schulte Springer. He was a proud Pawpaw of ten beloved grandchildren: Elora, Elle, Liam, Mason, Leah, Megan, Walter, Henry, Alice, and Mary.

Before retirement, he worked as a manager for Gly-tec. Bobby loved his family, his dog Jax, and his Jeep. A long-time resident of Nine Mile Point, he enjoyed cooking for the entire family and just sitting back and watching everyone have a good time. He was "a simple kind of man" who followed his heart and left this world content knowing he had a good life. The family expresses great appreciation for the compassionate team of doctors and nurses at East Jefferson General Hospital's CCU who cared for him and the family with integrity in his last days.

Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial Mass on Saturday, July 13, at St. Matthew the Apostle Catholic Church, 10021 Jefferson Hwy, River Ridge, LA 70123. Visitation 10:00-10:30 am, followed by Mass at 10:30 am. The inurnment will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the cause of your choice or Masses said in Bobby's name.
