Robert V. Leonick, passed away October 23, 2024 at the age of 73. After a year of medical problems and set backs he passed away with his sisters by his side.

He was born in New Orleans to the late Lillian Leitz Leonick and Walter J. Leonick. He is survived by his sisters Carolyn Leonick Thaller (Richard) and Elizabeth Leonick Goodlett (Brad). He is preceded in death by his brother Gerald J. Leonick, retired Command Sargent with the Louisiana National Guard 141st Field Artillery Regiment most recent Post Sargent Major at Camp Villere.

He graduated from De La Salle High School and Southeastern Louisiana University in Hammond. He worked at Union Carbide and later Dow Chemical until his retirement He was passionate about all things mechanical and auto racing. He worked for NOLA Motorsports Park in Avondale for many years prior to his illness and death.

This gentle soul will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Arrangements are under the direction of Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home. A private burial will take place at Greenwood Cemetery, 120 City Park Avenue, New Orleans.
