Ronald Joseph Bentel

Ronald Joseph Bentel " Big Ronnie", went home to be with his savior, Lord Jesus Christ on the morning of September 6,2012 at the age of 52. Beloved son of Henry P. Bentel and his mother whom he is in heaven with now, Shirley Theresa Blume Bentel. He is survived by Wendy May Bentel, his devoted wife of many many years. Also loved by his mother-in-law Gloria Berger. Close brother of the late Lawrence C. Bentel, William D. Bentel, Henry P. Bentel III ,Stephen M. Bentel, and Lori Ann Bentel. Loving and compassionate father of Ronald J Bentel Jr., Henry R. Bentel, Robert "Bobby" Bentel , and his youngest son Anthony A. Bentel. He is also survived by 3 grandchildren and 1 on the way . Also loved by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and lots of friends. Ronald was born in New Orleans, Louisiana on January 1,1961 and resided in Jefferson Parish his whole life. Ronald was always the man who looked out for his family and friends. He was the type to give his shirt off his back to anyone who ever needed anything, never a selfish bone in his body, always looking out for others before himself. He was a Self Employed Plumber and worked all his life very hard to provide for his family, and would sacrifice his own wants and needs to make sure they were happy and healthy. His favorite thing to do was to spend time with his wife , his four boys and grandchildren. He looked at his grandchildren as a special gift from God , always calling them his "angels", he loved and adored his grandchildren like no other. Ronald Bentel was a devoted husband , father, grandfather, and a special friend, who will be sadly missed and forever remembered in our hearts. God has called him home to rest and he is being well taken care of because God knows best. Family and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home Chapel 4747 Veterans Blvd. Metairie, Louisiana on Monday September 10, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. Interment in Garden of Memories Cemetery. Friends may visit from 11:00 a.m. until time of services.
