Malcolm and the Andry Family,

My deepest sympathy for you and your family during this time of grief.  My thoughts and prayers will be everlasting for the Andry family.

We lived next door to Rosemary in Harahan for 20+ years.   She was an absolute delight and as some would say, "a real piece of work".    Rosemary continued to mow her own lawn well into her 80's using an electric lawn mower and weedeater.   It sometimes took her a couple of days, but she was persistent.   When we asked why she didn't have someone mow her lawn for her, she'd just say that is was good for her to keep moving and working.   

Rosemary was always ready for the next holiday, parade, or party.  I always got a chuckle seeing her walk out of her house in Mardi Gras, Christmas, 4th of July or whatever costume was appropriate for that the current holiday.    When we had a family event at our house, Rosemary was always ready to come over and mingle.   When Rosemary's health began to fail, I stopped by one day to ask her how she was doing - she replied, "Kirk, getting old is for the birds, my advice to you is to die young and get it over with!".    That was vintage Rosemary.    

My fondest and most endearing memory of Rosemary is the time I went for a walk late one summer afternoon when it began to cool down.    I saw her sitting in her rocking chair on her front porch wearing just a night gown and barefoot.    She was a picture of contentment, rocking back and forth while  eating a fried oyster po-boy and drinking a can of Dixie Beer.     They just don't make them like her anymore.   

We miss her dearly, but we know she lived life to the fullest and gave of herself selflessly.  Our thoughts and prayers go out to Malcolm and his family during this time.   

Kirk and Penny Menard

I worked with Rosemary at Sears Clearview many years ago, in the Executive office.  She was always a source of wisdom as I tried to figure out the intracacies of Sears. In addition she was a delight, with her sharp wit and ready smile and laugh.  I remember "little Mal", who has since grown up, become a physician,  and performed a procedure on my husband at the hospital.  Talk about a small world.  My deepest sympathy goes out to Rosemary's family and friends, who I know will miss her.  I hope that you will all take some comfort in the fact that she lived a full life, and enriched the lives of so many who had the pleasure of passing her way.

DEAR ANDRY COUSINS:
I'M VERY SORRY TO READ OF ROSEMARY'S DEATH.  I DID NOT KNOW HER WELL, BUT MET HER SEVERAL TIMES A LONG TIME AGO.  HER HUSBAND, MALCOLM, AND MY MOM, ALTHEA DONNER, WERE 1ST COUSINS, AND MY MOTHER AND HER SISTER, AUNT EVELYN (SIMONS), ALWAYS SPOKE SO KINDLY AND NICELY ABOUT THEM BOTH.  MY HEART AND PRAYERS GO OUT TO ALL THE ANDRY'S AND TRICHE'S.  OF COURSE, THEY GREW UP VERY CLOSE WITH AUNT BERTHA, UNCLE WALTER, AND ALL THEIR CHILDREN.

The warmth and fun times shared with Aunt Rosemary will never be forgotten!  The door was always open, not only to her home, but to her heart.  We will remember her with love and laughter.
