Russell Paul Romero

Russell Paul Romero entered eternal rest on Monday, April 6, 2026 at the age of 82 surrounded by his loving family after a long and courageous battle with COPD and Lymphoma.

He was born on November 20, 1943, in New Orleans, La to Chester and Ruth Dartez Romero.

He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, JoAnn Aysien Romero. Devoted father of Ira W. Romero, Kenneth G. Romero (Cammie), Joseph E. Romero (Kristen), and the late Jason M. Romero. Proud grandfather of Joseph, Tyler, Zachary, Guy and Greyson and step-grandchildren; Hope, Grace, and Aiden whom he loved and brought him great joy in his life. Son in law of the late Rudolph and Lena Aysien. Brother-in-law of Marie Cordes, and the late Rudolph J. and Ann Aysien.

Russell graduated from Redemptorist High School Class of 1961 then proudly served his country in the US Navy from 1963 to 1967. Russell then went on to work for Pan Am Air, General Aviation, Caudle Aviation, Shollmier Distributors and Carrier South Central.

His greatest love and joy were spending time with his beloved wife, children, grandchildren and family.

The family would like to thank East Jefferson General Hospital Doctors and Staff, The Heart of Hospice Infinity Plus Care, LLC and VA Health Care System for their care and services to Russell and his family.

Relatives and Friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Memorial Service on Tuesday, April 14, 2026 at 1:00 PM at Leitz Eagan Funeral Home, 4747 Veterans Blvd, Metairie, LA. Visitation will begin at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery in New
