

She is preceded by her parents, Mary Howell Parsons and Roland Kent Parsons. As well as a brother Herbert ”Herbie” Parsons.
Born on December 27, 1932 in La Ceiba, Honduras she grew up on the Island of Utila, and later in Tela, Honduras. Immigrating to the United States in 1949 she met and married Bobby Bergeron and had three children. She was a graduate of the University of New Orleans, and was both an Educator and Librarian in the Orleans Parish School System, serving at both Carter G. Woodson and S. J. Peters for 20 years until her retirement.
She was an avid Saints Fan and enjoyed photography, especially flowers and clouds. She was also known to pamper many a cat over the years. She loved baking sugar cookies for her grand children, black jelly beans, chocolate cover cherries and strawberry daiquiris.
If you asked her what she thought her greatest accomplishment was she’d have said becoming a U. S. citizen and never missing a 4th of July celebration.
She is survived by her three children and their spouses: Dawn Wagener (Kerry), Roxanne Bergeron and Allison Arthurs (Robert); seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren and her brother Elmer Frank Parsons.
There will be a Memorial Service on Sunday, June 19, 2016 at the Lake Vista United Methodist Church 6645 Spanish Fort Blvd. N.O. 70124
Visitation will be from 2:30 to 3:00 with the service and repass following.
In lieu of flowers donations to the Louisiana SPCA 1700 Mardi Gras Blvd. N. O. 70114 would be appreciated.
