Shelton A. Pierce

Shelton A. Pierce, age 73, passed away peacefully with his loving family by his side on October 19, 2016. He was born on March 28, 1943. He is predeceased by his parents; the late Henry J. Pierce, and Mary Lee Sanders Pierce; siblings, Lois Nix, Lillian Wilson, and Roy Pierce; and grandchild, Christopher P. Sanders. He is survived by his wife; Geraldine Morales Pierce, daughters; Shelley P. Sterken (Tommy), Alison P. Authement(Michael), Kim S. Ernest, Karen A. Sanders, Georgia S. Langoni(Rob); siblings, Nell Moesta and Ruthie Tharpe; grandchildren, Brett and Matthew Sterken, Grace Authement, Cody M. Ernest, Mollie Blay, Alex Montejo, Chase Lacoste, Shelby Langoni, Sophia Langoni, and Kara Langoni; and three great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews; and his beloved fur baby Sweetie. Shelton proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy for seven years and was an avid book reader. He will be greatly missed by all those he loved. Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation with the family at Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home; 4747 Veterans Memorial Blvd., Metairie, Louisiana from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm on Saturday, October 22, 2016 with a Funeral Mass at 1:00 pm in the Leitz-Eagan chapel. Interment will follow at Lake Lawn Park Mausoleum in New Orleans, Louisiana. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Shelton’s memory to the American Cancer Society.
