

Shirley Eschette Fontana, a homemaker, passed away on Sunday, October 4, 2015. She was 76. Mrs. Fontana was born in New Orleans and lived in Metairie for 55 years. She was a retired private school bus driver and a retired florist, Flowers by Shirley. She was also a member of the Italian American Club, the National Sorority Beta Sigma Phi and a member of Mike Miley/Golden Ages Club. Beloved wife of the late Salvadore G. Fontana. Mother of Salvadore H. Fontana (wife, Janet R. Fontana), David M. Fontana (wife, Maryann T. Fontana), Michael A. Fontana (wife, the late Karen R. Fontana), Nancy F. Dupuy (husband, Alexander J. Dupuy, Jr.) and Susan M. Fontana. Grandmother of Krystal M. Fontana, Salvadore J. Fontana (wife, Jenny Gunnells), David A. Fontana, Tyler M. Fontana, Alexander J. Dupuy, IV, Chandler J. Dupuy, Brenten J. Dupuy, Austin C. Kern and Cameron A. Kern. Great grandmother of Madison M. Fontana and Hale R. Bouysou. Step grandmother of Donald Barrois, Jennifer Bouysou and Jordon Gunnells. Daughter of the late Henry Eschette and Marie Naquin Eschette. Sister of the late Allen Eschette and Raymond Eschette. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 4747 Veterans Memorial Blvd., near Clearview Pkwy., in Metairie, LA on Monday evening, October 12, 2015 from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM and on Tuesday morning, October 13, 2015 beginning at 8:30 AM with a Funeral Mass to follow at 11:00 AM in Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home’s chapel.
