Suyapa was born July 10, 1962 at Baptist Hospital in New Orleans, Louisiana and was a lifelong resident of Metairie, Louisiana. Suyapa devoted her life to her mother, children and grandchildren.
She is survived by her mother, Aida Herrera Gonzales; Husband Mario Roberto Hernandez Jr.; Three children, Mario Alphonso (Lara) Andrew Joseph and Melinda Stephanie. She has two grandchildren, Jackson Ethan and Mario Raymond, whom she loved more than life; A brother, George “Poncho” Gonzales (Kendra) their children, Brooke, Brice, Brady and Bailey; In-Laws, Mario Roberto Hernandez Sr and Haydee Quintanilla Hernandez and many other loving family members.
She is preceded in death by her father, Alphonso Rodriguez Gonzales, her Grandmother Bele Herrera her Uncle George Herrera and her Godmother, Norma Cobelo.
Visitation will be held at 11am, Wednesday, March 30th, at Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 4747 Veterans Blvd., with a Mass to follow at 1pm. Interment in Restlawn Cemetery.
