

Terry Joseph Robert of River Ridge, Louisiana, born January 4, 1938 in Ama, Louisiana passed peacefully at home on Sunday, December 26, 2021 and into the loving arms of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He was a devoted, dedicated and beloved husband to Marie Louise Robert for 34 years. He was a phenomenal father of 2 biological children and 8 stepchildren, Pawpaw to 18 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. Terry was preceded in death by his parents, Oswald and Amelia (Meo) Robert; siblings, Russell (Scooter) Robert, Gloria Barbay, Carolyn Zeringue and Aubrey Robert; brothers-in-law, Cyril Barbay, Harry Zeringue and AJ Rohli and a sister-in-law, Betty Vollenweider. He is survived by his brother, Everett Robert (Linda), sisters-in-law, Jeanette Robert and Brenda Rohli and numerous nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his sons, Corey and Burt Zak (Susan) and his stepchildren, Marv Campeaux, Chuck Campeaux (Terri), Kenneth Campeaux, Cy Campeaux, Michael Campeaux, Ellen Malbrough (Mel), Alane Mondello (Scott Scharfenstein) and Wanda Kasunic (Lou). He leaves behind his grandchildren, Abby and Jason Zak, Aaron, Jessica, Justin and Chelsea Campeaux, Michaele Ardoin, Cyprien Campeaux, Xandra Campeaux (Vadym Timotin), Jesse Blue (Moriah), Bonna Stoner, Amanda Hebert (Kyle), Eric Malbrough, Christopher Mondello (Micah), Kaitlin Mondello (Michael Miller), Mason Kasunic (Annie), Tara Hogan (Taylor) and Collin Kasunic and great-grandchildren, Sean, Jace and Carson Campeaux, Shelby and Elizabeth Ardoin, Rowen, Kieran and Juniper Timotin, Lyrik and Akiva Blue, Justyn Robinson, Sophia and Madison Hebert, Dakota and Rae Malbrough, Landon Mondello, Mikie and Kolton Miller.
Terry served in the Louisiana Army National Guard for 8 years. He also had two careers in his lifetime. He was a licensed barber as well as a professor at the New Orleans Barber College and then a welder for Avondale Shipyard until his retirement. Terry loved the Lord, his family, wife, children, grands, great-grands and friends with all of his heart. He enjoyed gardening, cajun festivals, cooking, long drives with Mary and spending time with his family. He was a loving, kind, thoughtful and compassionate man who after years and years of being married to Mary, came to understand her ways, sense of humor, laughed hysterically with her, sometimes to include an eye roll! Terry will be sorely missed by his family and friends.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 4, 2022 from 10:00 am - 11:30 am at Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 4747 Veterans Memorial Boulevard, Metairie, LA 70006. The Eulogy and Mass will begin at 11:30 am in the chapel. The spreading of Terry’s ashes will be done at a future date by the immediate family.
