Verna Matthews Wallace, 76, of New Orleans, La. on Wednesday, September 2, 2010 the angels of the Lord descended from heaven to call Verna to his heavenly home after a long and courageous battle with lung and breast cancer. Daughter of the late George and Mable Matthews. Brother of George Matthews, Ruby Matthews and the late Birdella (Bird) Johnson and Eloise Matthews. Beloved mother of Grederick Matthews, Rosilyn Anderson and Cheryl Glover. Also survived by 6 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandson. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Service at Franklin Avenue Baptist Church, 2515 Franklin Avenue on Saturday, September 11, 2010 at 10:00 am.
