Vernon Raymond Kroll, Jr. passed away on August 31, 2021, at his home in Diamondhead, MS, at the age of 70. Vernon was born on August 8, 1951, in New Orleans, LA. He lived most of his life in New Orleans, where he made many cherished friendships and enjoyed countless adventures. Vernon served proudly in the US Navy. He was the owner and operator of WW Catering Co., a career into which he put his heart. He worked closely with the New Orleans Carnival organizations, a partnership he was very fond of, especially since he always loved a good party. He was also a member of the Greater New Orleans Executive Association. Vernon enjoyed playing golf, fishing, cooking, and dancing to some good tunes. He was also an avid sailer in his youth. Vernon loved to laugh and could never pass up the opportunity to tell a joke. He loved his church families, always volunteering to cook a meal for the congregation or help in any way he could. Most of all, Vernon loved his family and being a father to his four daughters: Ivy Lorraine Kroll, Elizabeth Louise Karlsson, Anne Marie Kroll, and Kellen Celeste Kroll. And if you knew Vernon, you would know he also considered his dogs to be his children: Meg, Lucy, Squirt, Rufus, and Opie. Vernon was so thrilled to recently welcome his first grandchild to the world, Genevieve Cecilia Karlsson, whom he loved and cherished as her “Bubby”. He is also survived by his four beloved sisters: Karen Kroll Hurstell, Kitty Kroll Longman, Kristin Kroll Whitty, and Kendall Kroll Pfister, as well as his step-son, Jason Sperry, son-in-law, Ragnar Karlsson, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents: Vernon Raymond Kroll, Sr. and Lorraine Bahan Kroll. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Animal Rescue New Orleans (ARNO). Relatives and friends are invited to attend the memorial gathering at Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 4747 Veterans Memorial Blvd., near Clearview Pkwy., in Metairie, LA on Saturday, September 25, 2021 beginning at 11:00 AM with a memorial service to follow at 1:00 PM in Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home’s chapel.
