

Virgil Woodson Lovill III, born November 7, 1939, has entered the Kingdom of God on January 7, 2015. At the age of 75, Virgil, a Veteran of the United States Navy, serving from 1956 to 1962, had successful careers in the Fire service retiring as an Assistant Chief with the Jefferson Parish Fire Department serving for 28 years, teaching at Delgado College in the Fire Sciences Department and retiring as a Louisiana State Fire Marshall serving 13 years. He is survived by his loving, caring and compassionate wife Mary-Jean Tassin Lovill, with whom he battled Parkinson's Disease during his final two years on earth and was in her loving arms at the time of his passing. Virgil was the loving brother of Olivia Romano (Guy)and the beloved father of Retired JPFD Capt. Virgil W. Lovill IV (Mary), Toni Turner (William), Charles Mancuso (Kazana), Lawrence Mancuso (Janel) and Amber Lovill, the beloved Grand-Father of Shawn Lovill, Fallon Lovill, Joseph Mancuso, Casey Mancuso, Chas Pajares, Shanna Pajares, Ryan Pajaras and Samuel Lovill, the beloved Step-father of Norma Renaud (Nick), Cheryl Wintzel, Pamela Anthony (Bo) and Jay McSwain (Kelsi). Virgil is also survived numerous wonderful and loving great grand children, step-grand children, step-great grand children, numerous relatives from the Lovill, Mancuso, Tassin and Malbrough families and caring friends. He was also a member of the U.S.S. Turner Joy Plank Owners Association. Virgil was also a dedicated Saints Fan and avid Paintball Player. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral service from LEITZ-EAGAN Metairie, 4747 Veterans Memorial Boulevard, on Saturday afternoon, January 10, 2015 at 2:00.
