Virginia L. Penn

Marie Virginie Lelong Penn, "Virginia," died Sunday January 26, 2014 at Franciscan Oaks Health Center in Denville, NJ. She was 89. Virginia was born in New Orleans, LA on April 23, 1924 a daughter of the late Alice (Richardson) and Charles Andre Lelong. She later lived in Norfolk, VA, moving to Gillette, NJ in 1969 where she lived until moving to Denville in 1999. She worked for the VA Hospital in Lyons, NJ from 1969 - 1985, and later as an Administrative Assistant for Lucent Technology before retiring in 1995. She was a parishioner of St. Vincent de Paul RC Church in Stirling, NJ. She was pre-deceased by her husband David Bagley Penn, also a native of New Orleans, and 3 brothers Chaffraix, John D. and Rivers Lelong. Virginia is survived by her son David B. Penn III and his wife Dara, a daughter Celine C. Penn, a brother Marion Lelong, a sister Marguerite Kelly, and 5 grandchildren Lauren, Kelley, Brandon, Annica and Catherine.

A Funeral Mass for Virginia will be held at Garden of Memories Funeral Home, 4900 Airline Dr., Metairie, LA 70001 on Saturday February 1, 2014 at 11:00 AM. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until mass time. Interment will be in Garden of Memories Cemetery.
