Warren "Tuna" Austin

Warren “Tuna” Austin, age 85, passed away on Friday, July 6, 2012. Mr. Austin was a native and lifelong resident of New Orleans, LA. Beloved husband of the late Mary Mercedes Ward Austin to whom he was married for 64 years. Father of Patricia Mashon (James), Warren S. Austin, Jr. and the late Eric J. Austin. Grandfather of Michelle Mashon and Matthew Mashon (Gwynne). Great grandfather of Levi Mashon. Brother of Charles Austin, III (the late Carmen). Son of the late Charles Austin, Jr. and Ann Austin. Mr. Austin was a WWII Navy veteran. He was a member of the American Legion Post No. 288, the Forty/8, Voiture 108 and the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 130. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home Chapel, 4747 Veterans Blvd., near Clearview Pkwy., in Metairie, LA on Wednesday afternoon, July 11, 2012 beginning at 12:00 noon with a Funeral Mass to follow at 2:00 PM in Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home’s Chapel. Private inurnment will be in St. Patrick Cemetery No. 1 at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to the charity of your choice.
