

Willie J. Landry, age 68, died at his residence on Wednesday, August 25, 2010. Son of the late Florence and Louis Landry of Opelousas. Willie attended Opelousas High School and joined the Navy in 1959. After returning home from the service, he was employed by Kansas City Southern Railroad in New Orleans until his retirement in 2002. Willie loved to hunt, fish and play golf. He also was very proud of his grandchildren and supported them by attending all their athletic events. Willie was the type to always whistle while he worked or sing a country tune even though he couldn't sing. He often would amuse friends and family with his wit and sense of humor, he had many French sayings and phrases that he will be remembered by. Son-in-law of the late Clarence and Mabel Soileau of Opelousas. He is survived by his beloved wife, of 46 years, JoAnn Soileau Landry. Loving father of Kelly Landry Clement and her husband, Scott Clement, and William J. Landry (Billy) and his wife, Sharon Muller Landry and 4 grandchildren, Dane and Cole Clement; Ally and Ava Landry. He is survived by his siblings, Raphael Duplechain, Edna Collette, Gloria Landry, Dale J. Landry and Fred Landry. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Mass in the chapel of Garden of Memories Funeral Home, 4900 Airline Drive, Metairie, LA 70001 on Saturday, August 28, 2010 at 1:30 pm.
