

Aida was born November 18, 1948 in Havana, Cuba.
She is survived by her loving son, George Mori, her husband Oscar Iglesias, her sister Alicia (Lee) Goodwin of Clearwater Florida, her stepchildren Alina, Olga, Susan, and Oscar, and grandchildren Sophie, Natalie, Alejandro, Anabel, Leo, Victoria, David and Eva. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Aida is preceded in death by her mother and father, Jose and Josefina Gonzalez, and her beloved brother Pepin Gonzalez.
Aida was a kind loving woman who dedicated her life to making a difference. She was educated and formed by the Madames of the Sacred Heart at El Sagrado Corazon de Jesus Catholic School in Cuba. She came to the US as part of the ‘Pedro Pan’ airlift with her siblings. Once the family was reunited in Miami, Aida grew up in Hialeah, graduated from Miami Springs High School, and received degrees from Florida Atlantic University and the University of Florida.
A talented and keen businesswoman her career included many successes both in Miami where she worked for ADP, a National financial services company and in Minnesota where she moved with her first husband after the birth of her only son George.
In Minnesota, she was president of TOA, Associates an international logistics support company. She was politically active in the Republican Party and was distinguished as Minnesota’s most influential Republican Hispanic and was invited to the White House on numerous occasions.
She joined MEDA (Metropolitan Economic Development Association) and as VP found her true calling in the not for profit sector. She then founded and was Executive Director of HWDC (Hispanic Women’s Development Corporation) in Minneapolis which she ran until she was recruited by Burger King, Intl. and returned to Miami to head up community relations and expand minority franchises.
Looking for a more meaningful role in extending her global reach she joined ALFALIT International and with them worked with USAID as a program manager and for the last years of her career. She traveled throughout Africa and the Americas using her multiple talents developing literacy programs in the Third World.
Aida was a true champion for the downtrodden and an untiring advocate for women, children, and anyone who needed her help.
A devout Catholic, her faith was the rudder of her life journey as was her deep belief in God.
She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
A visitation for Aida will be held Thursday, October 8, 2020 at 6:00 PM at Caballero Rivero Westchester, 8200 Bird Road, Miami, FL 33155. A funeral mass will occur Friday, October 9, 2020 at 10:00 AM at Our Lady of Divine Providence, 10205 W Flagler Street, Miami, Florida 33174. A commital service will occur Friday, October 9, 2020 at 11:00 AM at Our Lady Of Mercy, 11411 NW 25 St, Doral, Florida 33172.
