

Angela Matilde Arredondo, affectionately known as Mima, passed away peacefully on February 11, 2024, at the age of 94. Born on October 8, 1929, Angela was one of seven siblings and the youngest girl in her family. She met the love of her life, Gaspar, affectionately known as Mipa, and married him in 1950. Together, they later welcomed two children, Imara and Gaspar Jr. In 1970, leaving behind everything and everyone she knew, Angela built a new home in New Orleans, LA, filled with warmth, friendship, and later the joy of her grandchildren, Mariang and Amaury.
Beyond her talents as a hairstylist and seamstress, Angela was the foundation of a home that was always welcoming. Her legacy is defined by her profound generosity and compassion, highlighted by her 25-year dedication to organizing an annual Christmas toy drive for children in need—a testament to her unwavering commitment to bringing joy and hope to others.
Angela's remarkable life was marked by resilience, love, and grace. She leaves behind a legacy of kindness, inspiring those who knew her to live with open hearts and cherish the power of giving.
Her family invites loved ones to remember and celebrate Angela's life and the indelible mark she has left on the hearts of many.
A service will be held on Sunday February 18, 2024 from 11-3 at Caballero Rivero Woodlawn South. Her memory will be cherished, and her spirit will continue to inspire generosity and love in all of us.
