Aparte de ser un hermano/amigo, no es fácil resumir lo que Charlie significaba para mi.  Cuando nos conocimos, encajamos instantáneamente

Poco antes de su adiós final entramos a un establecimiento que tenía un raguetón tocando en la radio y Charlie le dice a una dependienta:  ¡ Señora eso no es música ¡  Y hasta le dijo la razón  el por qué.  ¡Qué risa me dio!


   Así era Charlie. Sin frenos.  De la misma manera cuando hablaba de su fe en Dios ; el respeto a la decencia humana; cuando expresaba adoracion por su familia y cuando me llamaba, mi amigo.

Te extrañaré siempre,  mi hermano.


A perfect son,  husband, father,  grandfather and friend.   A man with the heart of an innocent child,  who brought laughter with his  cheerful attitude wherever he went. Charlie left an indelible  footprint in our lives  and   I will always thank God for bringing him into our family..  We’ll always love  you my friend.  You will live in our hearts forever!

41 happy years!!  We  started our journey together....just two kids in love.  We had no idea all the struggles that were ahead and yet we went through them.  God gave us a beautiful family.  Three kids that brought us so much happiness, four grandchildren and our kids in law that added to that joy.  You've always been  my pillar of strength my love, please remember me. I'm going to miss your warmth, your smile and the millions of times you called me  "Babe."

There's one memory that always comes to mind when I think of my cousin Carlos.......Like cuban crackers and cream cheese.  The best memories are simple things in life.  Love you!!!!

Our time together was far too short, but our memories full. I was lucky to know and love you, Carlitos. I’ll miss you always. 

Every Christmas party growing up, I distinctly remember waiting for the Betancourt family (blue van) to arrive. Carlito...you were the life of the party. Your hearty laugh, wild recall of unbelievable life stories, and bear-hug are things  I sorely miss. You were an incredible man of many great talents. As a kid, I fell in love with a cool neon sign in a video game, and you surprised me  one holiday with a replica of it. I still have it to this day.. You were the father to my beautiful cousins, and I'll miss you Carlito. I love you.

Here I am with my son Liam and my cousin Charlie and my favorite uncle Carlito he was such a outgoing person and always the life of every event. He would always teach me new things about life and about handy man stuff. I’m was very lucky to be part of his life,I will forever love, cherish  and miss you immensely tio! we love you 🙏🏻🕊

The photo is Me with Carlito, where we most likely talking about one of my favorite stories, of "the hamster escape", about how Charlie and Lianne's hamsters escaped and had babies behind their fridge. Hearing his comments on the situation were just unbearably funny.

Carlito never stopped laughing and really added so much life to every event.  He elevated every party he was at, and I remember every Christmas eve party just waiting outside with Dylan for Carlito's iconic van pull up extremely late to the xmas party. 

As kids Dylan and I use to call anything with an exceptionally round head that was making a soprano's like face "looks like Carlito",  He was a weekly/monthly comparison I'd use in my life and still use to this day. 

Every memory I have of Carlito is nostalgic, humorous, comforting and happy; As they will continue to be and I am the luckiest person to have had him be such an essential part of my family.

I could not make it because I got the sick :( 

Carlito gave me pieces of his old drumset. Him and I spent hours in his attic getting them all out. It was my first "drumset". Carlito would give me drum lessons every time we hung out. Music is an extremely important part of my life and Calito helped me build a foundation that has influenced the person I am today. 

I still cannot play his famous "Carlito Drum Beat" but one day...
