If my grandpa was here today he would have 2 more beautiful little granddaughters, I am sure he would love them, and if they got the chance to meet him, they would love him too. And its been 9 years since he was gone, thought we were in 2020, its been so long and im still missing him, wish you were here <3

It has been 8 years since he has been gone, and every time I look at pictures of him i miss him dearly. I wish he was still here today so I can have more memory's with him than what i have right now, which isn't much. I want at least one day to get to know him more than I did, and spend time with my grandpa.

Four years and three groups later and I'm still missing you and telling everybody how good it was playing with you in a group and that I would probably still be doing it.

It was nice reading all these well deserved tributes to a good man, good father, good husband, and a good friend to those who knew him.  Carlos was loved and respected by all who knew him and I am glad I got to know him for as long as I did.  I wish nothing but the best for his family and that they find comfort knowing that he was loved and respected by his peers.

I'll always miss our musical adventures with "Old Age" and "Justus". You were a dear friend, and I wish you peace and comfort.

Carlos will always be a friend. Someone that made life fun and relaxed. Someone who truly cared about people. Miss you friend.

Carlos you were the "cream of the crop" your dignity and commitment to your work was beyond words. You were always there for anyone who needed your help. You will be missed my friend. May God grant your beautiful wife and children strength and many blessings.

When I open mail from Wayne Shatas I get prepared for the worst news. This time I found we lost one of the Three Amigos. Carlos was a good friend on and off duty. I was his Sergeant for a while in auto theft and I worked with him at the OAG. My brother in law had the honor of playing drums in his band and we enjoyed watching him perform at the Hurricane Pub. Carlos was a friend to everyone...that was his nature. He will be missed greatly.

Carlos, I hope you are playing your music for the Angels.... I am pretty sure that Emilio, Willie, Pete, Hugo and the others that were waiting for you are dancing to that music.  Thank you for playing on the event in Memory of Emilio, Hugo and Pete...... To his family, Know that you are not alone; I can tell you that your police family will never let go of you, they have been there for me and my kids ever since my husband died 25 yrs ago. Carlos, you were one that made police work fun, in  many dangerous and stressful situations you helped many people keep their sanity, keep the music going.

Goodbye Carlos my friend. All the years we spent together. I got to meet your sons as teenagers and see them grow into adults, I met your wonderful mother and she welcomed me as if I were part of the family. I met your new family and your two wonderful children. Say Hello to Ralph for me and know we will always be "The Three Amigos".

Bye Carlos. I met you only 4 years ago, but what 4 years those have been !. At last I met somebody who loved the Beatles as much as I did, and who could on top play their music. In those years we played together about 100 times and there is not one time that I did not enjoy it. You are irreplaceable as a musician and above all as a friend. My deepest condolences to your wife Anabel and family.

Charlie, what can I say at the shock of losing you!!  We go back many many years brother to the time when we first moved to Hialeah and started playing football at Bright Park.  We had such great memories and stayed in touch all of these years through thick and thin.  I know you're up there jamming' with John and George so keep playing brother!!  I will always remember you and cherish our moments spent together.

Thank you for adding so much to our lives.  We do not get to experience many beautiful people in our lives like you.  You are a special person, a treasured friend and wonderful spirit,  We will always carry your spirit with us.  We love you forever.

Some people are just nice, and Carlos was one of them.  Rest in peace brother.

I have one more thing I need to say about my dear friend Carlos. Some know this story but others who will read this don't. So I'm going to put it in this memory book. 

I met Carlos, while I was working for HPD.  
   
He loved my son Eric, he was assigned to Eric's high school.  When Eric Killed him self, 27 years ago next week, I felt so alone.  My family were in such pain and shock that little comfort could go out among us . So I was all alone in my grief.  Carlos didn't let that be for long.  As I was sitting at Eric's funeral I was in so much pain I couldn't even cry, but I kept hearing sobbing directly behind me, I turned and it was Carlos.  There were hundreds of people at the funeral, most were classmates of Eric's also  many friend of ours from the police department.  But as I walked to the grave site surround by the all these people, I still felt all alone in my grief.  All of a sudden I felt a hand slip into mine and it was my buddy Carlos, he didn't let go of me until we lowered Eric into the ground on that March day.  As Eric was being lowered into the ground, a strong wind whipped up and Carlos  whispered , "That's Eric...he's with us".  Yesterday as I watched my beautiful friend be lowered into the ground a strong wind  blew the tent to the point it moved, I said to my self," Carlos, I know you're with us" 
People like Carlos are rare, we all were so blessed to know him, and we all will never forget him.

Anabel, I'm so sorry for your loss of Carlos, and that I never had the chance to meet him, since our careers sent us in different directions so long ago.  I know that he was a powerful force in your life, and the fact that he is remembered with such fondness tells me that you chose well, and that he will be sorely missed. I am so sorry for your lost.  I know there are no words to say at this time, and I know how bad you will be missing Carlos for a long time too.  You need to be strong my friend, for Zach and Julianna.  Carlos was a great guy, and I know he was very happy with you and the family.  That's what life is all about my friend. Carlos was such an easy going guy to work with along with a  remarkable attitude and personality.  It was an honor to work with you on many auto theft cases in DB.  You will be deeply missed my friend.  My condolences to your family.

I remember Carlos from the many screnes we worked together-I was a Fire/Rescue guy from Staion 5- he was "that young cop who is ALWAYS smiling....".  I kept calling him "Keys"(I was learning the language;got "Llaves" mixed up with "Llopis").  He thought I was hilarious, so I kept it up until I retired in '95. I am sad to hear of the passing of Carlos. I remember when we worked together @HPD and each had a common thread . We both loved music and each loved the guitar. I still remember he showed me his Rickenbacker guitar. It was just like the one John Lennon of the Beatles. He was proud of that guitar! I am sorry I didn't stay in touch with Carlos . I will sure think of him when I play my guitar the next time! My thoughts and prayers go out to his family in this difficult time. Bob Frith


Dale and I have known and been friends of Carlos for over 30 years. He was very special man, with laughing eyes and a smile that would light up a room. His wife Ani and ALL HIS CHILDREN have my love and hope there is some comfort in knowing that everyone who knew Carlos will always remember him. He will live on in our memory and our hearts.

I sat next to Carlos at work for about 5 years and I will cherish my memories of us laughing and goofing around. I will also miss going out to watch his band play. He loved talking about his family. I enjoyed hearing stories about his mom, who would call him everyday. He was proud of his older sons and he adored his wife and younger kids. 

Carlos, you will be missed but never forgotten, RIP my friend.
