

Charles Robert WILLIAMS, passed away peacefully on April 1, 2020. He was born on January 18, 1931 in Detroit, Michigan. He moved to Miami and attended Gesu Catholic High School and graduated in 1949. While at Gesu, he was an altar server and sacristan. He attended University of Miami and then served 4 years in the U.S. Airforce. He worked as a Flight Service Specialist for the Federal Aviation Administration. In 1965 he married Leanore (Lee) Gaglianello and recently celebrated their 54th Anniversary. Charlie was a Life Member of the Knights of Columbus and served many years in the Color Guard. In 1976-1977 he served as Faithful Navigator of the Father Andrew Brown Assembly. He was also a Life Member of the Miami Elks Lodge # 948 for 57 years. Also a member of the America Legion, Post 31 in South Miami for 30 years and Loyal Order of Moose West Dade Lodge, # 1825 for 25 years. Charlie was a Eucharistic Minister and Lector at his parish, St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church. He also served as a Hospital Minister at South Miami Hospital for 28 years. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to: St. Jude Children's Research Hospital at 501 St. Jude Place., Memphis, TN 38105 and/or St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church at 7377 SW 64th Street., Miami, FL 33143 and/or the Elks National Foundation at 2750 North Lakeview Avenue, Chicago, IL 60614. Charlie will be missed dearly by all who knew him especially his loving wife of 54 years, Lee Williams. A visitation will be held at the Funeral Home, Caballero Rivero Westchester at 8200 SW 40th Street., Miami, FL 33155 on Wednesday, April 8, 2020 from 9am till 10:30am followed by a committal service 11:00 AM to 11:30 AM at Flagler Memorial Park, 5301 West Flagler Street, Miami, FL 33134. All are welcome to attend. A Memorial Mass and Celebration of Life will be held at a later date and time.
