May 2, 1939 – October 21, 2025 (Age 86)
With deep love and heavy hearts, the family of Daysi Carrazana announces her peaceful passing on October 21, 2025, at the age of 86.
Daysi was born on May 2, 1939, in Ranchuelo, a small town in the province of Villa Clara, Cuba, to Rafael Garcia and Ana Avalo. She was one of five siblings and grew up surrounded by family, tradition, and the warmth of Cuban life.
While in Cuba, Daysi met the love of her life, Urbe Carrazana. Together, they shared a deep bond built on love, resilience, and devotion. In the wake of the Cuban Revolution, they bravely fled their homeland in search of freedom and a better future. Their journey marked the beginning of a new chapter filled with courage and hope.
Daysi first settled in Miami, Florida, where she welcomed her daughter, Anna Carrazana, in 1963. Later, she and Urbe made their home in New Jersey, where they were blessed with their son, Christian Carrazana, born in 1973. Daysi built a loving home grounded in compassion, hard work, and family values.
In 2000, she returned to Florida to be closer to her daughter and spent her later years surrounded by the family she loved so deeply.
Daysi is survived by her son Christian Carrazana; her grandchildren Loni Scardina, Jonathan Villar, Melissa Schwenger, Tristian Carrazana, and Maze Carrazana; and her great-grandchildren Gia Scardina and Talia Scardina. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Urbe Carrazana, and her cherished daughter, Anna Carrazana.
Those who knew Daysi will remember her as a woman of quiet strength, kindness, and unwavering love for her family. Her legacy lives on in the hearts of those she nurtured, guided, and loved beyond measure.
“Those we love don’t go away; they walk beside us every day—unseen, unheard, but always near.”
