Dennis Donham Johnson

Dennis Donham Johnson, 71, of Miami Fla, died at his home on March 28, 2023. He was born May 25, 1951, in Headlee Heights, Garard’s Fort, PA, a son of the late Harry T Johnson and Betty J (Donham) Johnson. Dennis was a 1969 graduate of Mapletown High School.

Continuing his studies at West Virginia University, he was drafted and entered the Army on December 22, 1972. Upon his discharge from Fort Dix with the rank of Sergeant on December 4, 1974, he was given a commendation for “superior service” for his “concerted efforts toward improving the quality of personnel services . . . .” He then resumed his education at WVU, earning a BS in Accounting in 1975 and his MBA in 1976.

Dennis was the beloved husband of Carol Rudy whom he married on June 25, 1983, and who predeceased him December 16, 2018. He and Carol enjoyed gourmet cooking, making their kitchen the heart of their home and their home the place where they enjoyed hosting friends and colleagues. He was a keen golfer and an avid sports fan throughout his life.

Surviving are two brothers, Rev Thomas V Johnson and his wife, Sheryl, of Harrisburg, PA, and Keith J Johnson and his wife, Megan, of Goode, VA; two sisters, Donna J Stockton and her husband, Edward, of Harrisburg, PA, and Deborah A Dancey and her husband, Marcus, of Shercock, County Cavan, Ireland; one niece and eight nephews, and many grandnieces and grandnephews.
