Elvira E Villamor

Elvira was born in 1951 in Palma Soriano, Oriente Province, Cuba to Leonila and Miguel Angel Caballero. She had many happy memories from Cuba of childhood school friends and her dog Simón, who would walk her to and from school every day.

As a teenager, she immigrated with her parents to the Bronx and later settled in New Jersey, where she finished high school before attending Fairleigh Dickinson University. In 1979, the family moved to Miami. Having attended secretarial school in New Jersey, with a focus on medical transcription, she began a long career in medical administration. Her work was a point of pride for her and the workplace fostered friendships that stayed with her all of her days.

In 1986, Elvira married Angel and together they had two children, Christina and Christian. Raising her children to be kind, conscientious people with a rich appreciation of their culture was one of the highlights of her life. Later, she was elated to become a grandmother to Viktor and Norah and treasured every visit. Upon retiring, she undertook the role of caregiving for her mother, who was also one of her closest friends. She fiercely loved God, her family and friends. Her friendships proved to be loyal and long-lasting. In the last decade of her life, she found an unexpected joy in her friendship with Roberto, who, in the end, helped care for her every step of the way.

Elvira was a creative soul who loved language and beauty. She was a fan of Golden Hollywood's movie musicals, the films of Alfred Hitchcock, and Humphrey Bogart. She surrounded herself with things that reminded her of the magic and innocence of childhood.

Elvira was preceded in death by Leonila and Miguel Angel, and her beloved uncle, Mario, and is survived by her children Christina, Christian and Barbara, grandchildren Norah and Viktor, as well as dear friends and loved ones who became family.

Elvira nació en 1951 en Palma Soriano, Provincia de Oriente, Cuba, hija de Leonila y Miguel Ángel Caballero. Guardaba muchos recuerdos felices de Cuba: los amigos de la infancia y su perro Simón, quien la acompañaba al colegio y de regreso a casa todos los días.

Al jubilarse, asumió el papel de cuidadora de su madre, quien era también una de sus mejores amigas. Amó profundamente a Dios, a su familia y a sus amigos. Sus amistades demostraron ser leales y duraderas. En la última década de su vida, encontró una alegría inesperada en su amistad con Roberto, quien, al final, la acompañó y cuidó en cada paso del camino.

Elvira era un alma creativa que amaba el lenguaje y la belleza. Era admiradora de los musicales del Hollywood dorado, las películas de Alfred Hitchcock y Humphrey Bogart. Se rodeaba de cosas que le recordaban la magia y la inocencia de la infancia.

Elvira fue precedida en la muerte por Leonila, Miguel Ángel y su querido tío Mario, y le sobreviven sus hijos Christina, Christian y Barbara, sus nietos Norah y Viktor, así como queridos amigos y seres queridos que se convirtieron en familia.
