

Emelda Gamez, 74, of Miami, FL, passed away on 1 August 2025.
Born on 07 September 1950, in Nicaragua, Emelda Gamez was the daughter of Tomasa Acuna and Victor Gamez. Throughout her life, she was a courageous woman who showed her children the true meaning of perseverance, resilience, and unwavering love. She lived with a spirit that never gave up—facing every challenge with grace, every hardship with strength, and every day with a heart full of hope. Her journey was one of determination and faith, always striving for better, not just for herself, but for her family. Through her example, she taught us what it means to fight for life and to believe in a brighter tomorrow. Her love was our anchor, and her strength will forever guide us.
Survived by her children, Sergio McCoy, Maritza McCoy, Urania McCoy, and Soraya Acosta. Her grandchildren are Jessie Cortez, Sergio McCoy Jr., Giovannie McCoy, Leilani Acosta, and Miguel Acosta III. Her great-grandchild is Noel Angeles.
May Emelda Gamez’s beautiful soul find eternal peace in the arms of our Lord. Though she may be gone from our sight, her spirit lives on—shining through the love she gave, the strength she taught, and the faith she carried. May her memory be a blessing, and may we find comfort in knowing she now rests in God’s eternal light.
Visitation will be held at Caballero Rivero Woodlawn South, 11655 SW 117TH AVE, Miami, FL, on 9 August 2025, from 9:30 am to 2:00 pm.
Committal Service will follow at Caballero Rivero Dade South, 14200 SW 117th Ave, Miami, FL, on 9 August 2025, from 2:30 pm to 3:00 pm.
