Mr. Enrique Echanique Malta

ENRIQUE ECHANIQUE MALTA Septiembre 16, 1924 – Diciembre 3, 2009ENRIQUE ECHANIQUE nació en Guayaquil, Ecuador, el 16 de septiembre de 1924. Su padre Moises y su madre Olalla. Sus hermanos America, Guillermo, Esmeralda y Colombia.Enrique fué a la escuela militar en Guayaquil y fué uno de los pioneros de la aviación civil del Ecuador. En 1943 viajó a New Jersey a trabajar con la Canada Dry. En Julio 1943 se enlistó en la U.S. Navy. Fué asignado radio operador en el portaviones U.S.S. Yorktown CV-10. Participó en la campaña del Pacifico de la Segunda Guerra Mundial. Estuvo en el U.S. Navy hasta Mayo 17, 1946 fecha en la cual se separó voluntariamente con honores.De regreso al Ecuador pasó por Barranquilla donde conoció a su esposa de 60 años, EDITH W. Alli se casaron y al año nació su único hijo FRANK. Vivieron en Barranquilla muy felices hasta el año 1980 cuando se mudaron a Miami. En 1984 nació en Baton Rouge, Louisiana su primer y único nieto FRANK L. (PITICO) de su hijo Frank y su nuera favorita KATHY.Enrique trabajó para la ciudad de Miami hasta su retiro. Durante 25 años fue miembro activo en el U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary de Miami. His siblings America, Guillermo, Esmeralda and Colombia.Enrique went to the Military School in Guayaquil. He was a pioneer of the Equatorian Civil Aviation where he received Pilot License #8. In 1943 he travelled to New Jersey to work with the Canada Dry. In July 1943 he joined the U.S. Navy. He was assigned as a radio operator on the aircraft carrier, U.S.S. Yorktown, CV-10. He participated in the Pacific Campaign during World War II. He was in the Navy until May 17, 1946 when he was Honorable Discharged.On his return to Ecuador he stopped in Barranquilla, Colombia, where he met his wife of 60 years, EDITH W. They married, a year later their only son, FRANK was born. They lived happily in Barranquilla until 1980 when they moved to Miami.In 1984 his only grandson FRANK L. (PITICO) was born in Baton Rouge, LA from his son FRANK and his daughter-in-law KATHY.Enrique worked for the City of Miami until his retirement. During 25 years he was an active member of the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary in Miami.
