Ethan Alexander Louis was born on June 7, 2006. Since birth Ethan had a spirit that lit up your heart upon meeting him. It was unexplainable. His joy, happiness, sense of humor, honesty, love for his family and friends, dedication and determination were just a few of his qualities. He loved food and eating was his passion. He said if he could make any wish he’d wish for any food on command.
Ethan was a just man, always speaking the truth with no filter but also no ill intent. He also loved to dance and had the best rhythm like he was born to dance. Not a talent given often to anyone who was 6’4”. 😂 His heart was too big to last a lifetime. 💔 The Lord brought him home early, but just in time to complete his mission on earth. He was the glue that brought our family together, made us laugh until our stomachs hurt, and was everyone’s companion.
He’d run to his mom every time she came back from a trip and said thank God you’re back with the biggest hug and the words, “I missed your cooking”. Again food. He also adored his immediate family, his big sister Briyana who was his second mom, his big brother Noah who was his best friend, and his Dad who was his buddy. To his mom he was the world and even more so because he gave so generously. He accompanied her everywhere and stood for her when sometimes she couldn’t.
He had strength that surpassed any human comprehension. During his illness, he did ask his Mom and Dad, “will I die from this”? A question no parent should ever have to hear. He fought and fought hard to survive. Three long surgeries, endless doctors’ visits, anxiety from countless lab and scans results, radiation and 11 different chemotherapy protocols. None were able to save his life. It was not meant to be. But he defied odds many times. They called him the cat with nine lives. 😇 He developed a passion for building Legos during his long hospital stays and encouraged the nurses to try it also. During the hardest times at the hospital Ethan would ask to play his favorite Christian song “Grace to Grace” and he would make the sign of the cross and kiss his hand after. He brought peace and laughter to everyone who came in contact with him. An old good soul one would say. He was taken but will always remain with us. He lives in our memories, heart, and future forever.
