

Hazel Ventura passed away at home in Miami on Wednesday, April 26, 2017 at the age of 90. Her children were by her side. Born Martha Hazel Sallitt, March 24, 1927, to the late Helen and James Sallitt in Iselin, NJ. She attended West Chester State Teacher’s College in West Chester, PA. She is pre-deceased by her husband Lorenzo in 1996, whom she married in Sicily in 1948. She moved to Miami in 1970 and was a substitute teacher in Miami-Dade county for 14 years. She was a member of St. Faith’s Episcopal Church since 1970. She is survived by her daughters Elvira Leach and Barbara Ventura, Her son Lawrence Jr. and daughter-in-law Margarita. Grandchildren Cyndi Silio and Husband Tony, Daniel Parrella, Marisa Parrella, Lawrence III and Christopher Ventura and Great-Grandchildren, Anthony Silio, Christopher Silio and Benedict Torrence Parrella. Sisters Sina and Husband Rudy Macak, Helen Carr and Sister-In-Law Mariella Ventura. She is also survived by nieces and nephews. Services for Hazel Ventura will be held Sunday April 30th from 4pm- 7pm at Caballero Rivero Woodlawn South Funeral Home & Cemetery11655 SW 117th Ave Miami, FL 33186. Mass will be held Monday May 1st at 10am at St. Faiths Episcopal church at 10600 Caribbean Blvd. Cutler Bay, FL 33189. Interment to follow at Caballero Rivero Woodlawn South Funeral Home & Cemetery 11655 SW 117th Ave Miami, FL 33186.
