H. Jeannine Gehl (nee Brady) passed away peacefully on July 22, 2025, surrounded by her three beloved children and listening to Frank Sinatra. She was born in St. Louis Missouri on April 3, 1929, as the only child to the late George and Helen Brady (nee Fink). Jeannine, also affectionately known as “Bunny,” graduated at the top of her high school class, and received a full scholarship to Washington University in St. Louis where she earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in 1950. She went on to work for Logan College of Chiropractic eventually becoming the Secretary to its President and ultimately became an avid and lifetime supporter of Chiropractic practice.
She was a dancer and drum majorette in school, and in her later years became a talented ballroom dancer. She loved music, travel and was an avid sports fan, often glued to the action whether it be Indy or horse racing, tennis, baseball or football. Jeannine always rooted for the underdog, unless they were playing her Miami Dolphins. She lit up every room with her beautiful smile and positive outlook and made fast friends wherever she went.
She was preceded in death by her husband Frederick J. Gehl Jr., and her long-term partner Frank M. Thompson. She is survived by her three children, Maria Gehl (Scott Francis), John Gehl (Crystal Morvant), and Karen O’Byrne (Joe O’Byrne), and her four grandchildren, Annabelle Burgett (Simon Frey), William Burgett (Rachelle Burgett), Conner O’Byrne, and Emma O’Byrne, and four great-grandchildren.
May Jeannine’s loving memory live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
The family will be having a private service. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations in her honor to Logan University, Sierra Club or Catholic Hospice.
